Job Summary
Hands-on Mold Technician role responsible for molding machine setups, start-ups, operation, and shutdowns in injection molding. Performs 1st/last piece inspections and routine quality checks, ensures machines, molds, and equipment function properly, identifies issues, and performs basic troubleshooting. Duties include safe mold changes, robot maintenance, process adjustments to meet specs, communication of production concerns, shift activity support, and completing training progressions across 3 levels. Requires adherence to PPE and safety procedures (lockout/tagout, crane operation), ability to lift 60 pounds, and capability to operate in aLean manufacturing environment with routine paperwork and collaboration across shifts. Training progression targets Level 1 through Level 3 with defined timeframes, and a physical/qualification baseline including DAT Mechanical Reasoning and Wonderlic Select scores.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum score in the 50th percentile on the DAT Mechanical Reasoning Test
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select (Traditional score of 16 on the Cognitive portion)
- Meet the physical requirements for the position
- Physically capable of standing and walking for the entire shift
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to wear steel-toed footwear
- Adequate visual acuity to enter/revise molding press programming
- Must be able to meet requirements for crane license
- Must be capable of exerting up to 150 foot pounds on torque wrench
- Must be able to work around a magnetic field
