Job Summary
Assemble, maintain, and repair blow molds and related components while operating manual machine tools and hand equipment safely. Fit and inspect mold components against engineering specifications using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers. Identify and implement repair improvements to enhance quality and productivity, verifying machined parts before final release. Collaborate with team members to share technical expertise and support shop-wide best practices while adhering to OSHA safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This role requires a high school diploma, 2–3 years of mold repair experience, and the ability to read blueprints. Work is performed Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm in a loud environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience using hand tools in a manufacturing, machining, or mold repair setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, schematics and blow-up diagrams
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
- Frequent moderate physical effort
- Use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds periodically
- Ability to see details of an object from a distance and close-up
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret and manipulate computer software programs
- Ability to read and input programs into machinery
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit number and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to take and understand measurements in millimeters
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of mold repair, assembly, or related machine shop practices
- Preferred experience in technical setup of mold making machinery
