Mold Tech - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and install molds and tooling to support safe and efficient production operations. Perform mold changes including building, stripping, installing, and maintaining tooling while cleaning molds manually or with high-pressure equipment. Set up molds for production by replacing seals, guns, and related components, and rebuild mold-related components to ensure quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve mold and process issues, operating control systems like PLCs for production adjustments. Complete required documentation for mold change records and maintenance logs, and participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week with additional hours as needed. The company is an industry leader in foam molding and fabrication, serving pharmaceutical, automotive, and construction sectors across multiple locations in Indiana, Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' mechanical experience in an industrial setting
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic to intermediate reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to use hand tools both manually and pneumatically driven
- Ability to operate a powered industrial truck
- Ability to operate cranes/hoists
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, and perform repetitive motions
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs
- Pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs
- Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, crouching and reaching
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Adherence to all applicable safety standards
- Safe operation of powered industrial trucks in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experienced in pneumatic (air), steam, hydraulic and water systems
