Job Summary
Generate cutter paths, write machine programs, and build or revise customer-owned molds while strategizing operation sequences and interpreting blueprints to match CAD files. Set up machines, verify dimensions using micrometers and calipers, and install electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Operate tool room equipment at a high competency level, create specialized drawings for water lines or EDM work, and train apprentices. Complete mold builds within quoted timeframes by communicating expectations to team members and adapting to changing customer demands. Requires 5+ years in the tool making trade, proficiency in Master CAM, and ability to lift 60 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ yrs in the tool making trade
- Proficient geometry and math
- Computer literate in software pertinent to mold builds i.e. Master CAM programming
- Understands metals and tolerances
- Ability to independently operate and validate work out of all tool room equipment at a high level of competency
- Self – starter
- Professional and respectful
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to readily adapt to changes in customer demands and come up with workable solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, peers, and outside customers
- Able to communicate all levels and functions of a mold build
- Able to carry maximum unassisted lift of 60lbs
- Occasional climbing steps, walking and standing on uneven terrain, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, handling, turning, balancing, carrying, grasping
