Mold Feasibility Engineer

Job Summary
Evaluate customer part designs and technical data to determine tooling feasibility and support accurate quoting for complex injection mold programs. Perform feasibility studies covering actions, travel paths, parting lines, runoffs, and steel sizing while developing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) solutions. Create feasibility concepts for quoting and manufacturing, providing tooling recommendations to the estimating team. Review CAD data, drawings, and specifications to identify design challenges and recommend practical solutions, ensuring designs align with tooling best practices. Prepare customer presentations and technical documentation while collaborating with engineering, estimating, and global feasibility teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain technical knowledge in injection molded plastics technology.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in injection mold design or feasibility engineering
- Strong understanding of injection molded plastics technology
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Proficiency with Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
- Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with compression molding or low-pressure injection molding is considered an asset
- Commitment to continuous learning as tooling technology evolves
