Job Summary
Create detailed mold designs for injection molded parts using Creo or SolidWorks, analyzing customer models for design-for-manufacturability recommendations. Develop complete mold design concepts and detail electrodes, generating accurate Bills of Materials and verifying packages against company quality standards. Collaborate with customers, Project Engineers, and the Toolroom to resolve design issues while maintaining design libraries and databases. Assist with co-worker training and support Project Engineers with data translation for quoting. Travel infrequently to customer sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of related mold design experience
- Tool and Die or Mold Making diploma from an accredited technical college, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with solid modeling software
- Creo preferred
- SolidWorks acceptable
- Mold making concepts and processes
- Ability to work independently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Solid math aptitude
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and follow-through
- Microsoft Office products
- Internet applications
- General office equipment such as computers, printers, calculators, telephones, and copiers
- Standard manufacturing and office procedures
- Visual Acuity as required, with or without accommodation, for reading written documents and computer screens
- Hearing ability as required, with or without accommodation, for listening, monitoring and responding to machines and equipment and for communicating with customers, co-workers
- Travel infrequently to customer sites as needed
