Job Summary
Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by conducting initial assessments, obtaining medical history, and taking vital signs. Assist surgeons during procedures by ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and sterile, while maintaining a clean environment that abides by safety and infection control protocols. Provide post-operative instructions, document patient information accurately in electronic health records, and coordinate scheduling and follow-up appointments. Educate patients about the procedure to alleviate concerns. Requires High School diploma or Medical Assistant certification, with experience in surgical or dermatology settings preferred. Full-time position with competitive pay ranging from $19.65 to $25.23 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a surgical or dermatology setting, preferably with Mohs surgery
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and patient care protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, focused on patient comfort and education
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis
