Modular Product Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design HVAC modular products and modules using modular architecture, defining module boundaries, interfaces, and variant rules; develop and maintain module skeletons, interfaces, and envelopes; ensure designs comply with modular governance rules; use PALMA software to define module variants and launch waves; develop product plans aligned with lifecycle objectives; create 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault; collaborate with Product/Project Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Engineering; lead or participate in DFMEA/PFMEA; apply Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma for design-to-cost improvements; support prototype builds, design verification, and validation to ensure producibility and smooth production ramp-up.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field)
- 5+ years engineering experience in HVAC or similar electro‐mechanical manufacturing environments
- Experience with top-down design methodology
- Experience with components such as coils, sheet metal assemblies, electrical panels, and wiring harnesses
- Strong hands‐on CAD capability using Autodesk Inventor / AutoCAD / Vault
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross‐functional teams
