Job Summary
Modular Product CAD Designer/Drafter responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for modular HVAC products using Autodesk Inventor, adhering to PALMA configurations, module skeletons/interfaces, and ASME Y14 standards. Key tasks include translating PALMA-generated product structures into CAD assemblies, maintaining naming/mapping between PALMA variants and Vault records, producing production drawings, and supporting change control. The role requires rigorous documentation, BOM accuracy, and collaboration with Product Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure configurability, producibility, and modular integrity. Desired capability to apply Lean/Kaizen approaches to improve CAD efficiency and documentation quality.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in CAD Design / Drafting
- 5+ years experience as a CAD Designer/Drafter in HVAC or similar electro‐mechanical manufacturing environments
- Experience with top-down modeling methodology
- Demonstrated experience with coils, sheet metal, electrical panels, and wiring/harnesses
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14 drawing standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design tasks independently
