Job Summary
Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist position at Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center for the 2026-2027 school year, located at Carleton School in Syracuse, Ohio. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs for students with significant cognitive delays/developmental disabilities; providing direct instruction in academics, social, and life skills; collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet diverse needs; implementing positive behavioral supports and evidence-based interventions; collecting data to monitor progress; utilizing adaptive equipment and assistive technology; fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom; and communicating with families and professionals to support student success at school and home.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license or eligible
- Experience working with students with cognitive delays and developmental disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with assistive technology, adaptive learning tools, and classroom accommodations
