Job Summary
Modelling Actuary role in Hannover Re Australia’s Life & Health subsidiary, located in Sydney. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Actuary, the position supports actuarial modelling, financial reporting and capital modelling processes, contributes to actuarial projects and system improvements, develops and enhances actuarial models, supports Internal Capital Model runs and related processes, assists with quarterly financial reporting (including RiskAgility FM modelling), identifies opportunities to improve models and processes, and collaborates across teams to strengthen data quality and systems. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, working on actuarial and business-led projects, and requires experience in actuarial modelling software (RiskAgility FM) and coding in R and SQL, with a preference for FIAA (or equivalent) or near-qualification and a minimum of 5 years in Life insurance. The candidate must have unrestricted permanent rights to work in Australia. Hybrid working arrangements are offered.
Required Qualifications
- FIAA (or equivalent) or nearly qualified with minimum 5 years of experience in the Life insurance industry desirable
- Actuarial modelling software experience, ideally with RiskAgility FM
- Experience with coding in R and SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively
- Clear and effective communication both written and verbal
