Modeling & Simulation Specialist | AFSIM Gunslinger

Configure digital representations of complex military systems to support operational utility, asset vulnerability, system integration, and concept of operations assessments within a synthetic simulation environment. Work with domain experts to understand system nuances and use abstraction to model them at the mission level. Assemble known information and use engineering judgement to fill gaps to represent real-world hardware, software, or processes used in military operations. Manage time effectively, interface with customers regularly, and deliver capabilities at the speed of relevance. Coordinate with other model specialists and developers to plug capabilities into a greater system-of-systems environment used to analyze large-scale mission vignettes. If onsite, you will collaborate with teammates and/or clients in person. Additional responsibilities for the Developer role include modifying simulation frameworks to add functionality and developing new plugins to increase framework capability. The role requires experience with AF SIM, collaboration with government/military programs, and a foundational skillset in modeling, simulation techniques, and programming (including C++). Educational credentials include a BS/BA in math, physics, or engineering, and US citizenship for security clearance; advanced degrees and additional programming languages (Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Julia) are a plus.
