Job Summary
Prepare and serve all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while actively taking orders and monitoring the dining experience. Anticipate guest needs, solicit allergy information, and ensure proper delivery and presentation of food, beverage, and amenity items. Accurately enter orders into the POS system, complete end-of-shift financial procedures, and maintain table cleanliness and station order. Comply with state alcohol regulations, Department of Health standards, and company safety codes. Set up floor and side stations, perform opening and closing procedures, and participate in daily pre-service meetings. Market venues through social media and photography, assist fellow team members, and report equipment damage or incidents to management. Requires 21+ years of age, previous high-volume hospitality experience, and ability to lift 75 lbs. in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous hospitality experience
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/dayclub/lounge
- 21+ years of age
- Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
- Must have good positive energy throughout the day
- Must be able to print legibly
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move quickly
- Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
- Must be effective as part of a team
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
- Must be able to work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work
- Must maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
- Must comply with Department of Health standards
- Must comply with all Tao Group Hospitality safety codes and standards
- Must comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Must comply with departmental appearance standards and uniform guidelines
- Must serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with all state regulations and responsible service/alcohol awareness training standards
- Must request identification from guests when legal age is questioned and when processing credit card payment transactions
- Must accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash/payment card procedures
- Must accurately complete all end-of-shift financial procedures
- Must report all breakage, and damage of equipment, the facility, or furniture immediately to management
- Must inform management of any irregularities, incidents, guest complaints or other disputes
- Must properly set up floor and side stations, perform side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management
- Must ensure all tables and chairs/banquettes are clean and free of debris
- Must set tables with proper settings
- Must stock side-stations with prescribed supplies
- Must perform opening side-work as prescribed
- Must perform closing side-work as prescribed
- Must attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings
- Must participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of all food/beverage menus and general information about our venues
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of all retail merchandise (where applicable)
- Must present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions for all beverage, and where applicable, food and amenity items
- Must ensure proper delivery and presentation of all food, beverage, and amenity items
- Must actively take orders, conduct full and complete food/beverage service, and monitor guests' bar/dining experience
- Must interact with the bar guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner
- Must portray a positive and professional attitude
- Must anticipate and accommodate all guest needs
- Must solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest during food service (where applicable)
- Must market the venue and its events as well as other company venues and events as designated
- Must participate in Marketing the company's venues and events, including but not limited to social media posts and posing for venue and marketing photographers to appear in marketing, publicity, or media materials
