Model Based Systems Engineer Analyst

Job Summary
Apply formal model-based systems engineering techniques and tools to execute Systems Engineering activities consistent with DOD and Navy standards. Support systems engineering technical reviews, milestone decisions, and acquisition events by developing technical documents, drawings, and models. Conduct requirements analysis, modeling with traceability, and activity/behavior modeling to identify interface definitions. Develop and manage DODAF-described views, including Expeditionary Medical Systems analysis and decomposition using internal block and definition diagrams. Perform test support by creating Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrices, performance specifications, and test plans. Execute simulation and trade-off analysis while leveraging standard modeling languages like SysML and UML. Employ DON-approved tools such as Naval IME and Cameo Systems Modeler to generate reports, manage data, and update model objects. Identify or develop standard operating procedures to enhance model fidelity. Communicate MBSE contributions to broader Navy and joint mission objectives while mentoring non-engineers and leading technical reviews. Requires a Secret security clearance and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 8+ years relevant experience
- Experience with DoD acquisition lifecycle and systems engineering processes (e.g., per DoDI 5000.97)
- Ability to work onboard Navy ships or other platforms for short testing periods
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills in: Project Team Management Acquisition and Project Management
- Proficiency in Systems and Unified Modeling Language and Architecture Frameworks (SysML/ UML / UAF) and digital modeling languages
- Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
- Experience with Digital Engineering Ecosystems and Model Repositories
- Proficiency and certifications in MBSE tools like Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw), IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
- Database management (SharePoint)
- Defense Acquisition System JCIDS processes
- Research and Development efforts
- Microsoft 365 Tools (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- OPSEC requirements
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
- Must be willing to support leadership in mentoring non-engineers and lead technical reviews as necessary
- Travel: Requires local area travel with occasional travel CONUS (approximately 10%)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- (Highly Preferred) INCOSE Certification (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) or ESEP (Expert Systems Engineering Professional)
- (Preferred) DAU/DOD Digital Engineering Credentials CENG 001, CLE 084, and/or LOG 0590
- (Highly Preferred) DoD 8140/8570 Certifications to overlap with Cyber and IT work (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or CEH.
