Job Summary
In-home mobile veterinarian role providing hospice and euthanasia veterinary care for pets and families in West Chicago, IL and surrounding areas. Flexible 2–5 day-per-week schedules with an average of 3–4 un-rushed appointments per day, allowing a balanced life while delivering compassionate care. The position supports onboarding, ongoing mentorship, and access to a 24/7/365 Support Center, with opportunities for professional fulfillment within Lap of Love’s network of veterinarians. Independent practice with strong emphasis on client-family communication, emotional support, and meaningful end-of-life care for pets. Salaries for 4-day full-time start at $107,500 and 5-day full-time at $130,000, with prorated options for 3-day and part-time schedules in this market.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Current veterinary license to practice in Illinois (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Ability to perform in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinary care
- Strong interpersonal communication and compassion for clients and pets
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Experience or interest in hospice/palliative veterinary medicine (preferred)
