Job Summary
Field-based Mobile Truck Technician/Mechanic at Pape’ Kenworth in Fairbanks, AK. Diagnose and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks at customer locations, diagnosing malfunctions and determining the best course of action to return vehicles to peak performance. Repairs may include engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, clutches, electrical and air systems, cab rebuilding, and related maintenance. Emphasizes safety, reliability, uptime, high-quality workmanship, and strong customer communication; requires hands-on mechanical ability, critical thinking under pressure, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
- Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred
- Self-motivation and assertiveness
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Must provide own tools
- Driver’s license with a good driving record; Class A CDL preferred
Desired Qualifications
