Job Summary
Maintain and perform repairs and inspections on trailers, handling brake systems, diagnostics, electrical systems, tires, lift-gates, and flooring. Repair damage and weld for major jobs, replacing parts like landing gear and rails. Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and DOT inspections, while opening and closing repair orders on a company device. Obtain parts from local vendors, manage inventory on service vehicles, and accurately complete DOT forms and documentation. Requires 5 years of tractor trailer repair experience, 2 years performing federal inspections, a valid driver's license, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Earn $36–$38/hr with performance-based incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of tractor trailer repair experience
- Communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills
- Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders which includes adding labor hours and updating work order
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to bend, stoop or crawl
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (1-2 hours)
- 2-years' experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections
