Job Summary
Mobile Software Engineer II at Abbott develops software solutions for cardiovascular rhythm technologies. Responsible for planning, designing, and developing software to satisfy customer/operational needs and regulatory acceptability; tasks include design, development, test methodologies, validations, risk analysis, documentation, and process improvements. Main responsibilities include participating in the software development process, executing moderately complex technical responsibilities, communicating with internal stakeholders, implementing moderately complex components from provided designs, participating in design and code reviews, and assessing impact of component changes to accommodate new capabilities. Requires strong Android and iOS development experience, proficiency in multiple programming languages, cloud and container technologies, security practices, CI/CD tooling, and experience in Agile/Scrum environments. Education required: bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering; experience 2-6 years. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in Development and or development in test
- Strong experience with Android and iOS development workflows
- Solid coding and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy)
- Proficiency in C# and understanding of unit testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, xUnit)
- Experience working with .NET, MAUI, and other Microsoft mobile solutions
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for mobile backend integration
- Understanding of security best practices for mobile deployments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane)
- Hands-on experience with AirWatch, MTX, or similar MDM platforms
