Job Summary
Write and break news for large digital audiences, covering top stories including the Royal Family, political events, and court cases with accuracy and speed. Research, write, and produce original journalism while upholding Sky News standards, working independently and with the live blogging team on occasion. Handle correspondents' copy and adjust work patterns for shift-based schedules including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and some overnights. Based on-site at Sky Group HQ in Osterley.
Required Qualifications
- A first-class judgement to identify the top lines of any story
- A track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations
- Experience in handling breaking news scenarios
- NCTJ training (or equivalent)
- Knowledge in media law
- Ability to produce clean, engaging copy at pace and under pressure
- The flexibility to adjust your work patterns when events require
- Appropriate right to work in the UK
- Must be able to work on-site at Sky Group HQ
