Job Summary
Perform and coordinate railcar repairs and maintenance while assisting with tank qualification. Operate forklifts and telehandlers as needed, preparing railcars for visual inspections through grinding, torching, and buffing. Interpret work orders and blueprints, utilizing mechanical skills for welding, cutting, and gouging. Report material or equipment needs and strictly follow safety rules to maintain clean work areas. Ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, ARS, and customer standards while working around heavy equipment and tracks. Travel 50%–75% of the time on a Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekends required.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
- Speak, write, read fluent English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
- May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
- Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
