Job Summary
Mobile Phlebotomist position handling on-site client visits (mostly nursing homes) with responsibilities including driving to facilities, collecting and labeling patient specimens, ensuring proper patient identification, and delivering samples while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Requires phlebotomy license (if required), valid driver’s license, vehicle, and ability to work a night/weekend shift schedule. Emphasis on accurate specimen collection, proper documentation, communication with dispatch, and adherence to universal precautions in a mobile clinical setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required)
- Must have a current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; a vehicle in good working condition
- Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques
- Knowledge of laboratory operations
- Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination
- Regular attendance
- Demonstrate regular attendance
- Communicates with dispatcher to report status and location
- Follows all specimen preservation, patient preparation and specimen management processes and procedures as written without personal deviation
- Follows all required safety precautions ALL the time
