Job Summary
Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and urine collections while verifying patient identity and ensuring specimens are labeled and transported per laboratory protocols. Travel daily to multiple client locations throughout the Chicagoland area to provide coverage for call-offs, staffing shortages, and emergency operational needs as a float resource. Represent Trilab Health professionally at facilities, build relationships with healthcare staff, and escalate concerns promptly to management. Complete required documentation, maintain supply inventory, and participate in trainings and competency assessments. Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable personal transportation
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Chicagoland area
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout healthcare facilities for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to drive for prolonged periods throughout the workday
- Manual dexterity required to perform specimen collection procedures
- Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances
Desired Qualifications
- National Phlebotomy Certification
- Experience working in treatment centers, physician offices, hospitals, or reference laboratories
- Experience working in a mobile or float phlebotomy role
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and laboratory information systems
