Job Summary
Collect and process specimens at Long-Term Care facilities and patient homes by performing venipunctures and capillary punctures as outlined in the departmental procedure manual. Identify and label laboratory specimens correctly, then process them to maintain integrity during transport. Operate and maintain departmental equipment, including computers and printers, while reading and receiving all laboratory tests ordered. Complete training for new procedures or changes to current protocols and comply with all facility, company, safety, and regulatory policies. Work as a team according to CompuNet's behavioral standards and perform other duties as assigned. Float between facilities based on need.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 6 months phlebotomy experience (as phlebotomist or role with at least 75% phlebotomy)
- 100 successful venipunctures
- Reliable transportation for driving to each facility
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of liability automotive insurance
- Insurable on corporate auto insurance policy determined by motor vehicle record report
- Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift
- Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly
