Job Summary
Operate up to a 40-foot Medical Mobile Vehicle to and from collection sites, process blood donors by performing venipuncture and sample collection, and transport collected units to the blood center. Communicate directly with donors and coordinators while complying with FDA regulations and AABB Standards. Monitor collection processes, assist with emergency donor care, and maintain inventory on mobile units. Inspect, clean, and service vehicles; prepare related reports and perform quality control functions. Set up and dismantle blood collection equipment at all operations and clean donor beds and work stations. Maintain an acceptable driving record and possess a valid Class B CDL with an active medical card. Work varied shifts including rotating weekends and holidays, with occasional four-ten or four-nine hour schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Acceptable driving record
- Six months experience in the operation of large vehicles
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class B CDL)
- Active medical card
- Federal waiver from the US Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in lieu of a medical card
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Demonstrate a full range of motion for bending, stooping and lifting
- Must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver's license (Class B CDL)
- Must possess and maintain an active medical card
- Must have an acceptable driving record
- Must have six months experience in the operation of large vehicles
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to demonstrate a full range of motion for bending, stooping and lifting
- Must be able to operate up to a 40 feet Medical Mobile Vehicle
- Must be able to operate a car, van or truck to transport all necessary equipment for collection and Mobile Unit staff
