Mobile Mechanic

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose, repair, and inspect trucks and heavy construction equipment in the field and at the White Cloud plant. Build, rebuild, and repair conveyors, crushers, and screens in pit environments, while dismantling and reassembling trucks using hoists and hand tools. Operate and inspect machinery to diagnose defects, overhaul mechanical and hydraulic systems, and repair electrical components using computerized test equipment. Examine parts for wear with precision gauges and test all products against manufacturer specifications. Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, MIOSHA, and MSHA safety policies while undertaking plant-specific assessments as needed. Requires a valid Class A CDL, clean driving record, and strong welding skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License A
- Clean driving record for past 3 years
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- 3 or more years previous work experience as a mechanic, preferably as a mobile mechanic
- Strong mechanical sense in a wide variety of skills (hydraulics, engines, electrical, braking system, etc)
- Strong computer knowledge and skills required (Maintenance Manager Plus software and Microsoft Office software)
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Welding skills, certifications preferred but not necessary
