• •Certification/degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanical Maintenance for a vocational tech school or equivalent work history

• •Ability to climb stairs, ladders, equipment access systems, escapeways, and work at varying heights
• •Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, components, and materials
• •Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, twisting, and working in confined spaces for extended periods
• •Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and mobile maintenance equipment
• •Ability to wear and properly utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• •Ability to participate in emergency response, mine rescue support activities as required, and evacuation procedures
• •Must be available for nights, weekends and rotating shifts
• •Must be willing to reside in camp during work rotations
• •Must be able to travel to and work at the mine site located approximately 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska
• •Must be able to work in extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, and potentially hazardous wildlife environments
• •Must be able to work with moving mechanical parts, work at heights, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibration
• •Must be able to work in very loud noise levels
• •Must be able to work in confined spaces
• •Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including temperature, ventilation, moisture, noise levels, and ground conditions
• •Must be able to work with or without assistance when lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• •Must be able to work in maintenance shops, underground drifts, PM bays, fabrication shops, active mining areas, and equipment operating zones
• •Must be able to work in dormitory style housing with two twin beds
• •Must be able to board a bus, boat, and another bus to reach the mine site
• •Must be able to eat and sleep on-site
• •Must be able to work in a remote camp
• •Must be able to work in the historic Berners Bay Mining District

• •Must be able to maintain and repair surface and/or underground mobile mining equipment such as drills, bolters, loaders, haul trucks, and heavy and light-duty support equipment
• •Must be able to perform in-depth preventive maintenance (PMs) to identify and resolve issues before they lead to equipment breakdowns
• •Must be able to enter hours into work orders daily
• •Must be able to enter service and repair notes to work orders daily
• •Must be able to maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities
• •Must be able to communicate equipment status and repair needs with supervisors and team members
• •Must be able to monitor equipment performance and report anomalies promptly
• •Must be able to assist in training new technicians on standard procedures and safety protocols
