Job Summary
Coordinate, schedule, and perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs for a fleet of heavy haul trucks, bush grind equipment, tractors, trailers, and mobile machinery like excavators and wheel loaders. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in the field, including hoses, fittings, tires, lights, and batteries, while prioritizing repairs based on driver calls. Operate mobile shop vehicles and Class 1 trucks to move units between job sites, yards, and remote locations, assisting in the recovery of disabled equipment. Liaise with drivers, vendors, and certified technicians to ensure timely service, complete electronic logs of working hours and service status, and track downtime to minimize operational disruption. Maintain safe working conditions, adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and perform incidental welding repairs.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics
- Recent experience with routine maintenance operations
- Ability to work independently in remote/bush environments
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications
- Clean driver's abstract with no suspensions
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- At least two previous supervisory references
- Valid Class 1 Drivers license
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coordinating fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment is an asset
