Job Summary

Assess potential risks and safety concerns for individuals and families in crisis, including self-harm or harm to others. Complete mobile assessments of crisis situations and person/family needs, providing active, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused interventions. Collaborate with individuals, support systems, law enforcement, and emergency services to develop safety plans, arrange transportation, and coordinate referrals to appropriate facilities. Assist individuals who are homeless or unsafe in their home environments, ensuring prompt and effective crisis intervention services. Schedule is full-time, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Wednesday, 1 pm to 11 pm. Base pay ranges from $31 to $36 plus shift differentials. Requires a Master's degree in Human Services, professional licensure in Michigan, and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Service field
  • Professional licensure in the State of Michigan
  • Certification in/or willing to obtain a development plan with MCBAP for one of the following (within 30 days of hire): CAADC Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, CADC Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
  • Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan
  • Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) defined by the State of Michigan
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in diagnosing, treating people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities
  • Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services
  • Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children
  • Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis assessment, and intervention techniques
