Job Summary
Manage the overall health of haulage and support equipment fleets by supervising a crew of tradespeople to execute maintenance in a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all mechanical maintenance activities while answering queries, handling requests, and recommending new approaches. Coordinate and supervise daily activities of on-site contractors, utilizing best practices and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to process work orders, purchase requisitions, and weekly schedules. Monitor, analyze, and implement changes to ensure maintenance is preventative, predictive, and proactive, while maximizing equipment availability and reporting on target achievement. Conduct performance reviews, provide clear work objectives, and promote a high-performance culture through monthly team meetings and weekly planning assistance. Promote health and safety by carrying out workplace inspections, analyzing accidents, and conducting incident investigations to find solutions and prevent recurrence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a supervisor
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Completion of secondary school
- Journeyman/woman trade certification in a relevant trade
- Over 5-6 years of work experience in the Mechanical Department (mining equipment)
- Prompt daily attendance at assigned schedule
- The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced and structured environment
- 7x7 rotational schedule availability
- Acceptance of camp accommodation and travel allowance
