Job Summary
MIH Paramedic position providing enhanced medical services to frequent 911 callers and non-emergent patients as part of a co-response with Behavioral Health Navigation Responder. Performs emergency and non-emergency field medical care, in-home welfare checks, assists patients with scheduling and transportation to appointments, and acts as an advocate to access community services. Partners with City of Oklahoma City Fire Department personnel and healthcare providers to determine care needs, coordinates with MIH team for follow-up care, and performs additional duties as assigned. Requires EMT-Paramedic licensure (state and national), CPR, a valid driver license, HIPAA awareness, strong documentation and communication skills, ability to work independently, manage time, and maintain certifications; willingness to travel occasionally and work in varied conditions. Emphasizes teamwork, customer-centric service, safety, and accountability in line with City values. Background checks and CJIS fingerprinting are part of the onboarding process for external applicants; role is located in Oklahoma City, OK.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Licensed Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Oklahoma Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Licensure
- National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Licensure
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator or higher)
