Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary
Operate the company's service truck and crane to repair heavy equipment, fleet trucks, and light tools on job sites. Diagnose faults using computerized testing, adjust machinery, replace faulty parts, and perform major repairs when necessary. Drive to locations for on-site fixes, maintain detailed service vehicle records, and ensure the shop remains clean and organized. Own and maintain a master mechanic tool set while reporting damaged equipment to management. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Available for on-call emergency repairs and willing to travel 50% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
- Ability to operate service truck with crane
- Fabrication & welding skills
- Ability to work independently, utilize good judgement and make decisions
- Ability to travel 50% and make repairs at job site
- Ability to withstand all weather conditions
- Available to be on-call for emergency repairs
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- CDL preferred
- State Inspection license preferred
- Experience with paving equipment preferred
