Job Summary
Physically locate, input, update, inspect, and maintain GIS databases, layers, tables, and links within geospatial relational databases while performing mobile GIS/GPS location work in the field. Map stormwater systems and record relevant attributes using high-precision Trimble GPS mapping equipment and ESRIs Field Maps app on mobile devices. Work outdoors daily in rough terrain, steep hillsides, creeks, and remote areas, clearing brush with machetes and maneuvering amongst biological hazards and busy roadways. Endure long days, extended hours, and up to 50% statewide travel in various weather elements to meet daily production standards. Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean MVR report and adhere to critical inspection data entry protocols.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to leverage > 50 lbs
- Ability to use a machete or similar brush clearing devices
- Ability to maneuver amongst rough terrain, steep hillsides, creeks, riparian areas and busy roadway networks
- Must feel comfortable working alone and in challenging environments
- Be physically fit, nimble, enjoys working outdoors, can endure long days and physically capable of heavy lifting items such as storm sewer and manhole covers daily
- Health and Safety conscious work ethic and follows field protocols
- Field work is very labor intensive at times and requires critical inspection data entry protocols to be followed and adhered by daily
- Be self-motivated, environmentally conscious, hardworking, organized, detailed oriented and able to troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Basic knowledge and work experience using GPS receivers, ESRI products (Field Maps – Arc Collector, tape measure, disto-meter
- Perform mobile GIS/GPS location work in the field, mapping stormwater systems and recording the relevant attributes using high-precision Trimble GPS mapping equipment and ESRIs Field Maps app to collect and manage digital data on an iPhone, Android or tablet device
- Physically locate, input, update, inspect and maintain GIS databases, layers, tables and links within the geospatial relational database
