Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate the Mobile Mechanic team to ensure high-quality trailer repairs, safety compliance, and efficient workflow. Perform hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs, provide guidance on repair modifications, and maintain accurate updates in the ERP system. Manage repair quotes with customers, monitor parts and labor utilization, and ensure adherence to SOPs. Travel locally to customer facilities to service trailers, with potential after-hours/on-call duties. Lead and develop the team, enforce safety standards, and communicate effectively with customers during repairs. Requires knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems, diesel engines, welding/fabrication, familiarity with POS/inventory systems (e.g., Karmak), and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in equipment/trailer/automotive repair preferred
- Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program preferred
- Trailer body and/or welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Previous supervisor experience preferred
- Familiarity with heavy duty truck systems, diesel engines, trailers and common industry brands
- Familiarity with point-of-sale or inventory management systems, such as Karmak or similar
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and customer-focused approach
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
