Job Summary
Fleet Mechanic role focused on maintaining construction- and service-vehicle/equipment through inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Responsibilities include identifying worn parts, performing diagnostics, repairing major assemblies and systems (power and drive trains, electrical, braking, hydraulics, A/C), conducting test drives to verify performance, ensuring compliance with safety and federal/state vehicle standards, and maintaining service records. The position requires flexibility for weekend/8–10 hour shifts, travel to different branches as needed with a company-provided vehicle, and the ability to work in outdoor construction environments. Desired qualifications include ASE certification (preferred), electrical and drivability diagnostic experience, 1–3 years of diesel/gas engine repair experience, experience with various heavy equipment and DOT inspections, and a valid driver's license with the possibility of background/drug testing. Required Qualifications
- ASE Certified preferred but not mandatory
- Must have electrical and drivability diagnostic experience
- 1-3 years of Mechanic experience of Diesel and Gas engines for on-highway vehicles
- Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Vehicle & Trailer Repair Experience - Required
- Off-Highway equipment experience such as front-end loaders, skid steers, mini excavators, forklifts
- Experience in performing Annual Federal DOT Inspections
- Class A CDL preferred but not mandatory
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing
- Computer literacy
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
