Mobile Equipment Technician

Job Summary

Maintain all mobile equipment, assist in developing preventive maintenance plans, and act as a down day and shutdown resource for the maintenance team. Interface with operators to address issues by reviewing daily logbooks, SAP, and email, while managing the SAP work order backlog and coordinating with planners for timely repairs. Investigate root causes of equipment failures to recommend long-term fixes and increase uptime reliability through collaboration with other crafts and operators. Complete assigned work orders, PM/PdM activities, and safety work orders based on established priorities, ensuring proper PPE usage and environmental stewardship. Participate in area projects and housekeeping during downtime.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of vehicle or mobile equipment repair experience
  • 3 years of troubleshooting and repair of mobile equipment hydraulics
  • 3 years of troubleshooting and repair of mobile equipment electrical systems
  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical makeup and operation a variety of electrical and electromechanical systems, accessories and components used on heavy mobile vehicles
  • 5 or more years working experience (Good knowledge in the manufacturing of composite panels preferred)
  • Good leadership skills, ability to work in a team and to energize/motivate team members
  • Excellent computer and software skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, , Powerpoint)
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment
  • Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
  • May include working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays, and being on call for emergencies
