Job Summary
Operate a forklift to safely lift, move, and pack loads of metal and plastic pipe weighing up to 15,000 lbs while navigating tight spaces without damaging products. Perform daily machine checklists, report issues to mechanical staff or supervisors, and drive defensively among pedestrians. Store inventory to facilitate rotation, cut and load scrap pipe, clean the forklift and breakroom, and organize coil storage. Complete required forklift certification training and physical exam. Possess strong mechanical ability, basic math skills, and knowledge of load physics and warehouse functionality. Must lift up to 100 pounds manually and work standing, bending, or walking for eight hours. Earn $23–24/hr with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, holidays, ESOP, and a bonus plan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment as a forklift operator
- Possess a strong mechanical ability
- Must be able to do basic math
- Knowledge of the physics of load and weight distribution and center of gravity
- Forklift operators must have a good knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality
- Must be able to pass forklift certification training and physical exam
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 100 pounds without the lift truck
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level
- Ability to withstand varying temperatures
- Must be able to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time
- Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat)
