Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary
Implement extensive preventative maintenance programs for all HME equipment, including front-end loaders, haul trucks, dozers, and excavators. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues while maintaining repair schedules and coordinating with plant staff for parts. Monitor inventory, inspect operating equipment each shift, and correct malfunctions or safety hazards. Manage outsourced repairs, forecast upcoming maintenance needs, and communicate production downtime to varying levels of management. Perform necessary cleanup to ensure a safer working environment while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in operation knowledge of heavy equipment found in a quarry or materials operation
- Extensive experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment, including hydraulics, diagnostic, electrical and schematic knowledge
- Limited machinist skills with the ability to read precision measurement instruments
- Fabrication skills; welding with arc and gas (certificate)
- Experience in managing maintenance on a fleet of equipment
- Manufacturer sponsored tracking
- Computer skills
- Ability to provide own set of mechanic hand tools
- Ability to forecast and schedule upcoming repairs
- Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions
- Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
- Previous experience in a construction or quarry environment
- Willingness to work shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work
- Willingness to have work schedule adjusted on short notice
- Commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas
- Promotion of a culture of safety and exhibition of these behaviors
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests (for employees required to wear respirators)
- Authorization to work in the United States (via E-Verify)
