Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair vehicle-powered road transport refrigeration units at customer sites while adhering to safety policies and ISO9001 standards. Monitor fleet conditions, assess operations, and identify revenue opportunities to maximize retention and growth. Liaise with central control regarding job times, downtime, and cost updates, then complete all relevant paperwork and PDA requirements for invoicing. Optimize engineer van stock, ensure daily safety checks, and assist with installation planning and commissioning. Maintain high customer service standards and conduct corporate image checks across self, van, and tools.
Required Qualifications
- GCSE level or equivalent with at least 3 grade C's or above
- Qualified to 2078 Refrigerant Handling and 2079 F-Gas
- Experienced in Electrics including 3 phase and brazing certified
- Completed Apprenticeship in Refrigeration /Air Conditioning /Commercial
- At least 5 Years' experience as a Refrigeration/ Air Conditioning or Commercial Engineer
- Clean UK driving licence
- Physically fit to perform required tasks
- Participation in additional on call roster, including overtime, working nights and weekends
- Thermo King Basic Refrigeration course to be completed
- Thermo King Basic Electrics course to be completed
- Thermo King Certi-Tech Bronze and above to be completed
- Thermo King Electrical Diagnostics (AC and DC) course to be completed
- Thermo King thermostats, controllers, data logger's competence
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally Completed Apprenticeship in Refrigeration /Air Conditioning /Commercial
- Commercial experience on mechanics including engines, compressors, and hydraulics
- IT literate (Microsoft Office), PDA use
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Numerate, literate, methodical, systematic
- Attention to detail and target driven
- Customer Service Skills & Relationship building skills
- Punctuality and efficiency
