Job Summary
Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and adjust malfunctions in truck and trailer equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, and hydraulic systems using test instruments and road testing. Independently manage parts inventory, maintain company-issued service vehicles, and document all findings on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application. Work Monday through Friday with variable shifts, managing your own daily schedule and prioritizing concurrent tasks to meet standard repair times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI)
- Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- Pass a DOT physical
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- DOT physical if DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining
- At least 21 years or older
- Valid state-of-residence driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
- Safe drivers needed
- 3 YR MVR review required
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship
- No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future
- 100% of the time travel
- Variable work shift
- Monday through Friday days
- Weekends upon Client request
- Work within or close to most Standard Repair Times
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
- 5 years' experience in a related field
- ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
- ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
- ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
- ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
