Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and adjust malfunctions in electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems using handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to verify functionality and independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck. Document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application and iOS device. Maintain the service vehicle with daily pre- and post-trip inspections while complying with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months and work variable shifts with 100% travel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI)
- Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- DOT physical
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- At least 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
- Ability to accurately judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from the observer, or the distance between an object and the observer
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- 100% travel

Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
- 5 years' experience in a related field
- ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
- ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
- ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
- ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
