Job Summary
Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light mechanical repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges, then road test vehicles to verify functionality. Independently manage parts inventory, reconcile equipment, and document all work via the TRAIT application on an iOS device. Maintain the company-issued service truck with daily pre- and post-trip inspections while communicating with management for repair estimate approvals. Work Thursday through Sunday from 2pm to 12am with 100% travel. Hourly base pay ranges from $29.38 to $44.09, plus a $1500 new hire bonus split over 30 and 180 days. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, be at least 21, and possess ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI)
- Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- DOT physical
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- At least 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Valid state-of-residence driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
- Ability to accurately judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from the observer
- Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
- 100% travel
- Work Thursday through Sunday
- Work 2pm to 12am
- Must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
- 5 years' experience in a related field
