Job Summary
Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced mechanical repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment. Diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges, then road test vehicles to verify functionality. Independently manage parts inventory, reconcile equipment, and document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application. Obtain parts from approved vendors and communicate with management to secure repair estimate approvals. Maintain the service truck with daily pre- and post-trip safety checks while complying with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- Candidate must pass a DOT physical prior to employment
- A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required
- Candidates must be at least 21 years or older
- Safe drivers needed
- Valid driver's license required
- Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
- 100% travel
- Variable work shift
