Job Summary
Mobile Diesel Technician II position at Cox Fleet involves on-site/mobile maintenance and repair of light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers at customer sites with 100% travel. Responsibilities include performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs (including aluminum/chem-lite components, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, and panel/body work). You will act as a lead on jobsites, manage parts inventory, document work on RO/TRAIT, and communicate with management and customers. The role requires maintaining safety standards (OSHA/EPA/DOT), completing DOT forms, and providing effective two-way communication. Qualifications include HS diploma/GED, 5 years’ related experience (alternative combinations acceptable), ASE T8/PMI and ASE 608/609 within 18 months, CDL-A, DOT-related certifications, and eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years’ related field experience
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
- ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months
- CDL-A License
- DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance knowledge
- DOT medical card or ability to obtain one
- 21 years of age or older
- valid state driver’s license and ability to drive in DOT requirements
- ability to obtain and maintain DQF
- ability to lift and perform moderately heavy labor
- preferred ASE certifications T4, T5, T6, T7
