Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and adjust malfunctions in electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems using handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to verify functionality, independently manage parts inventory, and maintain company-issued service trucks with daily safety checks. Document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application and upload photos using an iOS device. Obtain parts from approved vendors and communicate with management to secure repair estimate approvals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI)
- Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- DOT physical
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- At least 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Class C license
Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
- 5 years' experience in a related field
- ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
- ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
- ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
- ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
