Job Summary
Mobile Diesel Technician Level II responsibilities include performing DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on light through heavy-duty trucks in a mobile/field environment, diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, performing road tests, managing parts and documentation (ROs) via an iOS device, and ensuring compliance with safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent), ASE T8 certification within 18 months, DOT-related certifications and medical/dRIVER qualifications, plus the ability to work an evening shift and travel as needed. The position offers a base hourly rate ($26.73-$40.10) with potential additional compensation and benefits; location is Jacksonville, FL with remote-work flexibility contingent on residing in the specified city/state/region.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months
- DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance
- Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain
- Valid driver’s license / Driver Qualification File
- Ability to pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to work independently and manage own daily schedule
- Proficiency with using diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Comfort with documenting repairs via RO and related apps
- Two-way communication and customer service skills
- Ability to obtain additional ASE certifications (preferred)
- Understanding of safety policies and environmental regulations
- Willingness to work evening shift (4:00 pm – 12:00 am)
- Possession of a set of hand tools
