Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and advanced diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical, brake, cooling, and diesel steering systems using test instruments and road testing. Independently manage parts inventory, conduct vehicle safety checks, and document all findings on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application. Obtain parts from approved vendors and communicate with management to finalize repair estimates. Maintain a high level of productivity while working with a high degree of independence.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in a related field
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- Candidate must pass a DOT physical prior to employment
- A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required
- Candidates must be at least 21 years or older
- Safe drivers needed
- Valid driver's license required
- Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
- OEM training and certifications
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
- Ability to accurately judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from the observer
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions

- Ability to conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle
- Ability to work with and listen effectively to clients and customers
- Ability to manage concurrent assigned tasks
- Ability to use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks
- Ability to document according to company standards
- Ability to accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence
- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity
- Ability to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times
- Ability to obtain parts from approved local and national vendors
- Ability to communicate with management and support team via email or phone
- Ability to perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies
- Ability to comply with federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
- 5 years' experience in a related field
