Job Summary
Screen and stabilize individuals and families during mental health or substance abuse crises in natural environments via phone, walk-ins, or scheduled visits. Provide face-to-face crisis support, complete safety plans when clinically indicated, and collaborate with physicians, law enforcement, and internal teams to prevent incarceration or involuntary commitment. Answer incoming calls using standard protocols, refer consumers to additional services, and complete shift reports and hand-off communications by end of shift. Work different shifts with on-call coverage for additional compensation while adhering to HIPAA, confidentiality, and risk management policies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a human services field and certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience or prior training working with mental health and substance abuse population
- Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention
- CPR/First Aid certification
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work with deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Field (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology or Criminal Justice)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of community resources related to psychiatric services
