Job Summary
Mobile Crisis Recovery & Engagement Specialist provides peer recovery support and crisis intervention across lifecycle in community-based systems. The Mobile Crisis Response Team conducts over-the-phone and in-person de-escalation, safety screening, assessment, and resolution services with 24/7/365 coverage. Role emphasizes use of lived experience to mentor clients, build recovery capital (housing, employment, relationships), and connect with community resources. Responsibilities include in-person and telephone crisis screenings in a two-person team, crisis planning, linkage to care, short-term case management, and collaboration with clinical teams and outside agencies. Requires CRSS/CPRS certification or eligibility within 12 months, valid IL driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and a flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Location: Mount Prospect, IL; travel to community sites; work within KYC Crisis Care System, with 24/7 coverage and on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CRSS certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
- Valid IL Driver’s License
- Access to a well maintained/insured vehicle
- Minimum 37.5 hours/week, non-exempt
- Two-person team in-person crisis screenings
- Experience with crisis intervention and linkage to care
- Knowledge of community resources and housing/employment supports
- Ability to work in a mobile/community setting
- Exposure to varied public/residential environments
