Job Summary
Stabilize acute psychiatric and behavioral crises for youth, families, and adults through phone and face-to-face mobile intervention. Connect individuals to continuing mental health services based on their needs and preferences while collaborating with law enforcement, schools, and medical providers. Provide short-term crisis support across Sioux Center, Sheldon, and Rock Rapids, requiring frequent travel and a valid driver's license. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with occasional holiday coverage at Alex's Place and weekend shifts. Complete 40 hours of crisis response training or obtain certification as a peer support specialist.
Required Qualifications
- a bachelor's degree in a human services field
- 1+ year of experience
- a certified peer support specialist
- willingness to obtain a certified peer support specialist
- 1+ year of experience
- a law enforcement officer
- 2+ years of experience
- an EMT
- 2+ years of experience
- an RN
- 1+ year of experience
- 40 hours of crisis response training
- willingness to attain 40 hours of crisis response training
- Frequent travel
- a valid driver's license
