Job Summary
Full-time Crane Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic mobile cranes (including all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks), electrical and hydraulic systems, and related components. Must be proficient with CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, CCS, and LICCON systems. Requires High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of crane-mechanic experience in automotive, trucking, or heavy equipment environments. Must be able to read operating and technical manuals, document maintenance and repairs, and communicate safety issues to customers and co-workers. Ability to work overtime and weekends; valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and TWIC card (or ability to obtain TWIC). Must be able to lift over 40 lbs. Provide own tools; reports to Maintenance Manager; on-site shop with locations in St. James, LA and Norco, LA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Be able to perform inspections, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various hydraulic mobile cranes including all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc.
- Experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics in modern crane technology
- Knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, CCS, and LICCON systems
- At least 3 years’ experience as a crane mechanic in an automotive, trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends
- Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record, TWIC card or ability to acquire TWIC card
- Ability to lift over 40 lbs
- Read and understand operating, parts manuals, and technical drawings
- Capable of independent work without direct supervision
- Maintain safety compliance and proper documentation
